Hi All,
I've followed instructions that I've found here to play commercial DVDs and all is working fine.
But I've discovered that non-commercial DVDs do not play attempting to do it in the 'normal' way.
Kaffeine (FILE->OPEN DVD):
The source can't be read.
Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain data (e.g: no disc in drive). (///dev/scd0) [Ok]
No plugin found to handle this resource (dvd:///dev/scd0) [Details>>] [Ok]
Mplayer (GUI) DVD->Open Disc):
Failed to open dvd://1.
VLC (FILE->OPEN DISC):
No error, but no play.
Alternate methods:
The DVDs can be played anyway, but via these alternate methods:
mplayer:
mplayer /dev/dvd
or
mplayer /dev/scd0
Kaffeine and VLC:
FILE->OPEN DIRECTORY
These non-commercial DVDs play perfectly under Windows with all players that I've tried.
Any Ideas ?
TIA.
JB.
