    Compiz in Gutsy

Does anybody know how to make compiz to start automtically when your start the computer? Everytime I want to get compiz started, I have to do it in a terminal windaw with compiz --replace.
I also would like to change/set the effects that compiz has, but I can't find the compiz setting menu in KDE, although the package compizconfig-settings-manager is installed. Any ideas?

    Thanks

For me, if I open a Konsole window and enter
    Code:
    compiz
it will run, but it will not release the bash shell (i.e. the $ prompt never comes back).

If you simply shut down/restart the system at this point, compiz starts automatically ever after.

Psst, dibl: try "compiz &". The ampersand backgrounds the process.
Now if I only knew how to background a process when it's already in the foreground...
      For external use only.

Thanks for the tips. I just run the command in the konsole and made a restart and worked. Now I have compiz working (the cube) when I start the computer, but does anybody how to access the compiz settings? I don't find any application in the K menu.
        Thanks

That's the problem Snowdog, in the Settings menu it doesn not appear the Advance Desktop Settings Menu.
In my K Menu > Setting > I have the following submenus:
            Control Center
            Appereance&Themes
            Desktop
            INternet&Network
            KDE Components
            Peripherals
            Power Control
            Regional...
            Security & Privacy
            Sound&Multimedia
            System Administration

I thought that it was in the Desktop Menu, but I can't find anything about Compiz in all of them.

Is there a way to make the Advance Desktop Settings menu to appear where it should be?

Look higher up your KMenu list. You are looking at the contents of "System Settings", but up above "System" should be a new menu named "Settings".

Are you sure that you installed the package for it?

                compizconfig-settings-manager

This package should install the manger in K Menu as I described. You can check Adept Manager for this package. If it is identified as installed, then it can be added to the K Menu. You can also open a console and type:
                Code:
                ccsm
If the manager is installed, this will bring it up.

The compizconfig-settings-manager package is installed. When I do in the console the ccsm command it appears. How do I add it to the K menu?

Right-click on the K Menu button.
                    Select Menu Editor
Click on the New Submenu icon
                    Type Settings and click OK
Click on the New Item icon
Type Advanced Desktop Effects Settings and click OK
In the Comment box type Configure Compiz with CompizConfig
In the Command box type cssm
                    Click on the Save icon
                    Close the KDE Menu Editor
