Attach and send the .xsession-errors file from the home directory of the user that can not login. This will tell us what the problem is the X is having for that user.

a new problem i have is the menu panel in the other user is not showing up. only the terminal and swifweasel icons are present. I am not sure if it is related to the login loop in the main user.

could there be a connection? I am close to doing a re-installation but would love to solve the problem instead.
