convert m3u to mp3

i got some free m3u music files off the net and need to convert then to mp3.
can anyone tell me a ggood program to do this.

I could be wrong, but I thought that an m3u was just a playlist - not actual music files?

m3u is a playlist format, not a file format. Commonly, and I presume in your case, it's used to contain a single URL to a web stream.

It's openable in a normal text editor, so if you do so I wouldn't be surprised if you find such a URL.

You could then try simply using wget to download it.
