    fluxbox

With KDE 4 just about to release, this might sound strange but I wanted to give flux box a try.

just wanted to know few thinks before installing it.

is my favourate Amaroke going to work in fluxbox?
what about about mplayer and DVDs?
    Flash plugin in firefox?

apart form litsning to music and watching videos, mostly I'll be using it as a fileserver and web server so really don't care about rest of apps accept for open office.

Also while giving fluxbox a try, I would remove KDE is that going to cause any problem for apps like amaroke and kmplayer.

From what I've read and understand, MPlayer and Firefox + Flash should work fine, but Amarok might have a little trouble. As long as you have the necessary KDE libs, you should be able to remove the environment (just like you don't have to have the Gnome environment installed to run Gnome apps, but you do have to have the libraries), just, be sure to double check what is being removed when you uninstall it.

I'm pretty much sure that mosst of the apps will get uninstall while removing KDE. but I must be able to install them back through apt-get. which should automatically install the required libraries.

that is I'll first remove desktop enviroment then I'll reinstall the required apps or is there another way to just remove KDE.

I'm not sure; it may be best just to remove the whole thing, and reinstall the apps you want so you can have the minimal required KDE libraries to run them (free up some unnecessary HD space). If that's the course you would like to take, you can find instruction here.
