Microphone issue with Vostro 1500

Hi there *again*

Well, Using a Dell Vostro 1500, i have sound working on my speakers but no working headphone jack..

also, can't get the microphone to work. I don't know anything about getting it work, my mind's just a blank piece of paper. Help me out, i don't want to have to boot up windows to use skype. Apart from that, Windows seems to give me the blue screen saying physical dump of memory whenever i start Skype for some reason.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. As far as i know, i'm using Alsa drivers to have my sound working. yes, i'm a newbie..

Do you have this installed? I've seen it on other similar models and was wondering if this would correct your issues.
