    KMPlayer - TV

I'm trying to get my Terratec USB TV card work.

KMPlayer has what looks like a nice feature: Scan for device.

The problem - it does not find anything.

    EDIT:

It's showing up in Kopete - but not in any TV or multimedia program I have tried.

If I do Dmesg - what to me looks like the relevant part (+ some extra lines at the top and bottom):

    Code:

    Re: KMPlayer - TV

What are you trying to do? Watch video through it?
Video devices are usually at /dev/video*.

VLC's pretty good at getting things to work. You could try that.
    For external use only.

Check to see if you have /dev/video0, if so, type cat /dev/video0. If you get a bunch of garbage you are headed the right direction. In KMplayer, you should be able to Open>URL>/dev/video0 and you should get one station or snow if you don't have an antenna hooked up.

        [1]+ Stopped cat /dev/video0
Something like this? (the boxes with a ? in them are rectangles on my screen.

I don't find any URL option when I choose Source -> Open. I get a normal file opening window - Desktop, Home Folder, Storage Media, Network Folder. If I enter /dev/ and choose video0 from here, nothing happens, just a black screen.

I too prefer VLC, but that seems even worse to understand.

If I do File -> Open Capture Device and set Video device name to: /dev/video0
          nothing happens.

One thing - when I first introduced the Terratec, there was another video device - a webcam that isn't possible to use. I've removed and restarted - but possibly I have to do something?

Yup, that's what it should look like. On mine, I click Open, Play URL.

When I do that, here is what I get - see attached snapshot

EDIT: Wrong snapshot - correct at the bottom.
