Firefox window size locked

I am using 2.0.0.11, for unknown reason the window size is locked to last used size, I maximize it but the setting can't be saved,

I had the same problem and was unable to find a solution

In the end I just dragged the window until it filled the screen and then it continued to open at that size.

This doesn't work for me, FF keeps open half sized

Start Firefox in safe mode

firefox -safe-mode

and in the window that opens select reset toolbars and controls.

Firefox will now open in full screen (and remember to do so). Unfortunately, it will also restore your toolbars to their default settings, but these are easily changed in the View/Toolbars menu once you're back in Firefox.

Thanks for the tip, the worse case I can delete the profile and start over again.

Have you tried right-clicking on the title(uppermost) bar and selecting advanced->special configuration for this window/application(or something to that extent, mine is in german)?

Save mode didn't work, I deleted the profile and start over again.

Interested to know what happened (what didn't work about firefox -safe-mode)? In my experience, this has worked for me and many others over the past couple of years. It's possible that newer versions of Firefox have changed things. Anyhow, what happened?
