    nspluginviewer crashes Konqueror

OK, I have installed 7.10 like 4 times and each of the 4 times, I get the same problems... nspluginviewer crashes Konqueror all the time when browsing. Most of the time I use firefox anyway, and that works great, however, I use Akregator to view rss feeds and that uses khtml that uses Konqueror (or something along those lines)...

Any way, Kubuntu is the ONLY disto that I have used that has unstabilities in KDE (Konqueror, kmail, and some others). This seems strange seeing how popular it is.

Below you will find the trace to the error. I am not a programer, so it means nothing to me, but someone out there might have a clue...

Also, I have checked the plugins on konqueror and they are pointing to the correcnt locations for flash and all the other plugins that firefox uses...

    Thanks for any assistance...

    Joe

    Re: nspluginviewer crashes Konqueror

So something crashes when it tries to load the Flash plugin?
Which processor are you using, and where did you install Flash from?

      Re: nspluginviewer crashes Konqueror

Hi there... Thanks for the reply...

I am using an AMD 4400+ X2 (Dual core) and I got the flash plugin from adept. Pretty much a stock install really... Only does it in Konqi. Firefox is good. And, it does it on every web page I go to regardless of whether its got a flash plug in it or not. For example, if I got to desktoplinux.com it does it :-P

        desktoplinux.com has Flash on it...

Anyway, would someone who knows the magic necessary for getting Flash working properly like to share the steps? I suspect a reinstallation might fix it...

Ironically, it was an old "Windows" issue... A reboot fixed it :-D...

So far no issues /me knocks on wood...

To get it to work, I just installed the flash non-free app from adept. That was it.

            Re: nspluginviewer crashes Konqueror

I have exactly the same problem, but what you describe here does not fix my problem.

When I go to Youtube and I see a gray window where the flash should be. When I click to preview a video there and the Kde crash handler appears with the same Backrace info.

            Anyone with ideas

            _EDIT_

Ok, it turned out Konqueror has problems with latest 115 flash.
One can downgrade by downloading previous version from here http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...4266&sliceId=1
And paste the files to your /home/YOURNAME/.mozilla/plugins/ directory.
Supposedly the 48 works just fine.

It does. Follow Rog131's link here to get just the r48 release without having to download the multi-megabyte flashplayer package file.
