Hi,
I have a problem with my Adept Update Manager which started through a crash of the application and seems to be persistent:
Every time I log in to KDE (Kubuntu 7.10) the Adept icon in the system tray says there are new updates. When I try to fetch and install them, it performs the whole installation but when committing the changes it gives the following error:
After I click OK, it says "Update Complete" but the only clickable button is "Forget Changes and Quit". When I click this, the KDE Crash Handler gives this error:
I included the backtrace as attachment, in case anyone can use it.
The next time I log in it seems to list the same updates as before.
Another problem is that this does not only occur for the automatic update tool, but also for the manual installation of new software through Adept. However it seems that software I install this way is indeed installed and mostly works fine.
Does anyone know how to solve this? It's really annoying to never be sure whether new software is installed or not...
Thanks!
Pieter

There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages.
The application Adept Updater (adept_updater) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).
The next time I log in it seems to list the same updates as before.
