    Close Firefox
    sudo apt-get install timidity
    sudo apt-get install playmidi
    wget http://mozplugger.mozdev.org/files/m...r-1.9.0.tar.gz
    tar zxvf mozplugger-1.9.0.tar.gz
    cd mozplugger-1.9.0/
    make linux
    sudo checkinstall
    rm ~/.mozilla/firefox/pluginreg.dat This file will be regenerated when Firefox is opened
    Open Firefox

    mozplugger is in the repositories. There is no reason to compile from source.

      Except when you want things to work. Mozplugger from the repositories did not work for me.

        Ummm...what has MIDI got to do with Flash?
        I am running Ubuntu 8.10 (yes Gnome) with upgrades applied daily about 0900 UK time. Hardware is Dell Precision 420, 2x 800 MHz PIII, 512 MB RDRAM, nVidia GeForce 6800 128 MB AGP graphics, 18GB SCSI and 500GB IDE HDDs, DVD burner, Hauppage TV card.
