    Installing new icons?

I was curious as to how to install new, sleeker looking icons. I rather liked this set I found on kde-look.org..

    http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...?content=70349

Any tips/advice on downloading and installation? Anything would be appreciated

    Installing new icon theme:

    K > System Settings > Appearance > Icons -> Install New Theme...

    Note
Reflective Icons isn't icon theme. It is 56 png files (170x170) packed in the Reflective_Icons_by_Jacopo.tar.gz (2,3M).

    Using png files:
Right click K-menu > Edit menu -> Choose program/icon -> Left click icon > Select icon window pops up > Choose "Other icons" > Browse...
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

      Thanks

I have one question though. How do I change folder icons, and the menu icons, like the KDE button, quit button, etc? I haven't been able to figure it out.

If you are talking about the kmenu icons, open up the kmenu, right click on any entry and click edit menu. Once the edit window is open, go to the entry that you want to change the icon. Make sure it is the one with focus. In the right hand side is the list of run options, etc. Also there is a square box. Click on it. Change the icon by either using the pre-defined listed or choose Other Icons and browse to the one you want. Save. Enjoy!

        ***EDIT***
You can do the same for Folders. RC, Properties, click on the Picture Square.

I figured that part out Thank you. Is there any way to edit the actual K-menu button, and the trash icon?

            Re: Installing new icons?

The only way I've ever been told was you have to go to "/usr/share/icons/crystalsvg" and manually replace those icons with what you want. I'm not sure if there is a GUI for that or not. Also there are several locations within the directory where they could exist based on the icon size. The name has to be the same as well.

              Re: Installing new icons?

It depend on what icons theme you are using and the location where it's installed.
              System wide location: /usr/share/icons/
              User "username" location: /home/username/.kde/share/icons/

The kmenu icon is named: kmenu.png and is found in the apps and actions icon folder.
The trash icons is named: trash.png and emptytrash.png and is found in the actions and filesystems icon folder.

              so like this:
              Code:
              /home/taisao/.kde/share/icons/OS-K/72x72/actions/emptytrash.png
OS-K is the icon theme that I'm using.
