mysql administrator error 1045

Mysqul administrator gives me error 1045, not authorized.

This is a local mysql server on my network at 192.168.1.10
phpmyadmin has no problems with it, neither has my windows software.

Any idea's? Thanks. Jean.

Yes I am.
Pinging the server responds quickly enough and phpmyadmin connects too.

But mysql-admin says:

Could not connect to host '192.168.1.10'.
MySQL Error Nr. 1045
Access denied for user 'root'@'192.168.1.11' (using password: YES)

Click the 'Ping' button to see if there is a networking problem.

There's another utility in the repositoire, called Mysql Navigator which gives the same error, access denied. While phpmyadmin connects without problems. What could this be?
