Modifying default behavior on insertion of CD Audio

I used KControl (KDE Components | File Associations) to modify the default action on insertion of a CD Audio. My objective was to temporarily suppress any action. The Application Preference Order for inode | directory and media | audiocd is now None. I no longer get the KDE dialog asking me what action I would like to take, but instead I now get an X dialog asking me what application to run. I was hoping to eliminate all importuning. Any suggestions what I need to do next?

The next problem will be restoring the default. I can see how to specify an application to run on insertion of a CD Audio, but what if I want to see the KDE dialog asking me what action I would like to take?
