Wine isn't in the K Menu.
When you want to run a Windows application (e.g. program.exe), run "wine ./program.exe", assuming you're in the same directory as the application.
    For external use only.

The Wine package from the repos installed a menu entry on my system for whatever reason. If you want, you can download the .deb package of Wine from the repos here for 64bit or here for 32bit computers.

wine itself has no real gui, though it may put a "wine" menu on your Kmenu (may not show up till you log off/log back in to kde - it also may not show at all)There is a gui configuration for it called winecfg.

you have to run wine from the command line usually, and if you find your program runs ok, then you can create a menu item or shortcut using the commands you use

Wine can be tricky, touchy, finicky, unstable, and difficult to use. But very often it is truly awesome as well.

You definitely will want to search for and read how-to's for wine, especially ones about the apps you want to run and check out http://appdb.winehq.org/ for a database of programs that work using this tool

            Re: [SOLVED]wine installation problem??

As integrate said, when you install from the default or budgetdedicated repos, you will get menu entries. As others said, you either run wine from the command line or associate windows executables with wine and then run them by clicking on them. The wine menu under kmenu is intended to run windows apps you have installed under wine. Bottom line, the repos are pretty current and there is very very rarely a reason to compile from source. Good luck.
