    I don't think so, I've deleted them too, along with everything else I didn't need, and I haven't had any issues.

      HEY Guys: Thanks for all the tips. I think my problem may be just the mouse itself. I rebooted back to Vista, and the mouse didn't function there either. Called Kensington Support, and they are sending me a new mouse. I'll keep you posted.

        Well, then, that at least documents a useful use for M$: as a tool to confirm the non-functioning of a piece of hardware!
        Windows no longer obstructs my view.
