    Remove Huge (Strigi) Index

Hi, I have Strigi desktopsearch (integrated with Konqueror) on my two machines but I'm getting neither to work properly. Strigi fails to keep its settings even within one session. So I want to remove Strigi by using Synaptic (my default package manager).
But how do I get it completely removed, including its dependent files, AND including the huge Index that it reports to have grown to no less than 1,6Gb? (I don't even know where that Index resides.) Any pointers to sane maintenance procedures in general are welcome too.

Thanks in advance for your sound advice,

    Mikla

    - btw I installed Beagle, but where could I possibly find its start option?
    - It would be very nice if the software description would include pointers to a start Icon, disk location and/or command?

Well you could do a "remove completely" from synaptic. That should take care of most of it.

Now go to your /home/username/ folder, activate hidden files in "view" and look for the ./strigi file. (mine was something like 1.2gig.) trash that guy.

    Then you can do:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get clean
    and
    Code:
    sudo apt-get autoclean
That should take care of the rest.
