    weather applet

Hi all, I just installed 7.10 Kubuntu and the first thing I usually do is add the weather applet. It seems to be missing in 7.10, anybody know why? I got to have my weather info!

You could try looking out the window Just kidding. I don't know about the weather applet. Of course there always is kweather (in the repos). I haven't used it since... well a long time ago.
I have the forecastfox enhanced add-on installed on firefox and use the superkaramba (should be in the repos) widgets.
    Liquidweather is a good one
    http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=6384
it is very configurable and flexible.
    For more on superkaramba:
    http://netdragon.sourceforge.net/ssuperkaramba.html

After installing it from adept/synaptic or with:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install superkaramba
you will find it under utilities (or something like that, mine is in german) in the kmenu.

    Enjoy

Additionally, imagemagik must be installed with superkaramba. You can install it separately, or both at once:
      Code:
      sudo apt-get install superkaramba imagemagik
And of course, you can use Adept Manager to install both packages.

Thanks Fintan and Snowhog, for the respond and info. Weather is so available over the web, I can get it quick and easy, the applet is really no big deal. I was just curious why it was dropped. I basically use Ubuntu but always set setup Kubuntu on 2nd hd with each new release, it's just a fun thing.
