I can't find realplayer at all with apt-cache search (and so not with adept either). So I downloaded realplay-10.0.9.809-linux-2.2-libc6-gcc32-i586.bin from the helix player page, https://player.helixcommunity.org/2005/downloads/. When I run it, I get
sudo ./realplay-10.0.9.809-linux-2.2-libc6-gcc32-i586.bin
./realplay-10.0.9.809-linux-2.2-libc6-gcc32-i586.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This is the same sort of error I get when trying to install a Dell 720: It depends on libstdc++5, whereas Gutsy has libstdc++6 and it doesn't accept that. Why in the name of %^&*( can't the bloody system accept a more recent library in place of an old one? This is very frustrating.
What to do, please? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
