    Export messages from KMail

I run KDE 3.5.8 and Kontact 1.2.4 on Ubuntu Gutsy, and wonder if it is possible to export messages from personal folders from KMail. In the menu I could find an option to import them to KMail, but not to export. There are some plugins to export KMail messages to HTML, but I would like to export them to a format acceptable in Outlook and Thunderbird.
    Thank you for your response!

    Re: Export messages from KMail

An Export feature is not part of KMail. It, like other email programs, has an Import option. Assuming you have TB installed in Gutsy, can you use it's Import option to import directly from KMail?

KMail keeps your email messages (contents of the mail Folders) in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail
Each mail folder has three sub-folders - cur new tmp
You will find your email messages in these folders. They can be read by opening with Kate, or any other editor. The files are simple text files.
