    Firefox & mplayer vs ASX

Look this funny behaviuos of my just-installed kubuntu, with firefox and mplayer plugin:

if I enter this site in firefox (http://www.radio93.com.br/player.php) the mplayer plugin will load only a grey box and ply nothing. However, if I enter this other url in firefox (http://www.radio93.com.br/radio_online/audio.asx) that is exactly the same ASX embed in the other site... firefox opens mplayer plgin in it.. and it plays...

any suggestions on how to make it work in the first page?... this happens to other sites I like listening, like (http://www.radiocbb.com/popup.html - http://stream-a.liquidcompass.cc/CBB).

I know the plugin works in a certain way, since it plays normally when I enter the "final url" in firefox - and, other sites, with videos instead of audio, I know they work properly... but not these ones I wanted to...

    thanks in advance,
    Renato, aka Krull

I have got similar problem regarding streaming ASX file too. Firefox is not able to recognize the asx format in some web pages. Every time, it pops up a screen to ask me "download or open with ....". However, I am unable to set it to play the asx file automatically by mplayer-plugin in firefox.

The mplayer-plugin still can stream the asx file without problem so I just ignore the pop up screen from firefox. strange....It seems that it is the problem of firefox.

You case seem not the same as my case.

well.. yeah, maybe... at least, up to now, I didn't receive the download dialog for the sites I tested. but the error realy makes me feel the plugin is not "receiving" the correct address to the file to play when it's in the html "embed", only when I use the "direct" url... wierd...

let's see if someone else ever had this error...
