adept doesnt load

I was messing around some of the third party software repositories and i think i entered something that i wasn't supposed to and now i can not open adept at all i get this error message:

"The APT Database could not be opened! This may be caused by incorrect APT configuration or some similar problem. Try running apt-setup and apt-get update in terminal and see if it helps to resolve the problem."

i do not know how to fix this and i cannot even open adept to do anything... please help!!

Open a konsole shell and type:

kdesu kate /etc/apt/sources.list

Copy and past the contents here, and we can tell you what to 'fix' and/or remove.

The below two lines I'm sure are the culprits causing Adept not to open/run. I would comment these two out (put a # in front of each).

deb http://mirror.debianforum.de/kde-i386/ ./
deb-src http://mirror.debianforum.de/kde-i386/ ./

The folowing two lines shouldn't be in this file, as they refer to Feisty and not Gutsy. Again, I'd comment them out.

deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy
deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy

I'm not 100% sure about the last entry:

svn co https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...kibadock/trunk kiba

So, comment out the first two I remarked on, save the file, and restart (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace) and see if Adept will open and run.

Yep, plus:

deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org feisty main

apart from beryl not existing anymore this points to feisty as well.

And why do you have all the security repos commented out?
