If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
If all you need is configuring your desktop, just right-click it and you should have a Configure desktop... option.
To configure how your windows look and behave, right-click the title bar of a window and use Configure Window Behavior... option.
There are a few more advanced configuration packets, to get 3D effects and other cool stuff (Compiz or Beryl). But i don't have any experience with them, so i can't give you any help if you need that. They are also a bit harder to configure.
