adept doesnt show manage repositories window

When i click on manage repositories.. it fetches updates instead
im on kubuntu 7.10.. upgraded from 7.04 fiesty a week ago

anything that i can do to fix it?

Now THAT is weird! What does it do when you click "Fetch Updates"?

Having never heard of such a problem, much less a fix, you can do what the anti-Adept group does, and mark the Synaptic package for installation, and then your life can proceed normally with Synaptic as the package manager GUI.

it fetches updates when i click on either 'fetch updates' or 'manage repositories'

I think I would first install Synaptic (using Adept or apt-get install), and then (using Synaptic) mark Adept for removal.

Then (using Synaptic) I would install Adept again, and see if it functions correctly.

Or, perhaps you'll like Synaptic so much you won't want Adept any more.

i installed synaptic as u suggested
but it says

E: Syntax error /etc/apt/apt.conf:1: Unsupported directive 'Acquire::http::Proxy'

ive commented it using #.. i use it when im in college where im under a proxy ( apt.conf )
when i come home i comment it
but synaptic doest work with it..
any work around?
and adept is still acting strangely

edit :
i re-installed adept from synaptic.. after renaming the apt.conf to apt.conf.orig
now both are working fine.. will post if anything happens again

Cool -- glad it's working again. I just opened Adept, and noticed that "Fetch Updates" under the "Adept" menu is immediately above "Manage Repositories" -- I wonder if it was some kind of mis-alignment of your mouse interface. You would only have to be off by a fraction of an inch to have it receive the click on the wrong item.
