Konqueror 3.5.8 not loading some web pages

I think this topic may have been covered on one of the forums I was reading yesterday and the issue was not resolved for some reason or another. I like to listen to music from slacker.com playing in the background while I'm doing work on the computer. I can run firefox and navigate to the website, minimize, open konq and do the real work, like locating files, splitting windows, tabbed browsing the way I like...you name it. Konqueror is the be all I need it to be program and I would like it to play my favorite internet radio station like firefox or dare I say IE7!

I am running ubuntu gutsy 7.10 from ubuntu ultimate 1.6 x86 and used synapltic to install the KDE environment and the meta package for kubuntu-desktop.

Is anybody able to load this website using strictly kubuntu install, because I may have missed something trying to import konqueror on my own? If not, why? (rhetorical possibly on that last question)

Hmm, it doesn't work in Konqueror for me either.
Could by some tricky JavaScript it uses, or some complicated Flash videos. Or a combination of the two.

I doubt you'll be able to get it working in Konqueror. It's probably something in the HTML/JS/whatever engine doing something differently from Firefox or IE, making the page not work.
You could try filing a bug report, but I don't know how productive that'd be...

Re: Konqueror 3.5.8 not loading some web pages

Thanks for trying SheeEttin & juantovarm. I was thinking it was me cuz I'm still a noob. I contacted slacker support and received a quick response. They suggested Flash 9.0 and a link to the tar.gz / yum / other file install types and long story short, it didn't work. I "./installed_the_file" as myself into my home directory and then did a "sudo ./install" for a system wide effect. I know that flash is working for konq, I have been to sites that have required it and it wasn't installed yet, now it is and they work fine.

One of the cool things I got from the support guys at slacker was an output of the diagnostic log. Ignore the lines that start with "ip", I edited those for obvious reasons.

The lines that catch my eye I guess (I'm not a developer) are the ones that say WPM not found. Searching for WPM. I think I will assume that is some sort of "Web Media Player" plugin? I'll keep goin with this. Maybe get it figured out by the time KDE 4.0 comes out. I know...I'll try it on the debian beta 4 release on my vbox. Keep ya posted!

Re: Konqueror 3.5.8 not loading some web pages

          Probably Windows Media Player.

I bet this is the first problem:
Wed Nov 07 2007 20:12:28 GMT-0800 - [error] Event notification failed (OnDisplayStationGuide):Value undefined (result of expression this.blur) is not an object. Cannot be called.
I'd hazard a guess that this.blur is something to do visual effects, which the KHTML engine can't handle, which causes the whole thing to fail.

As I said, consider filing a bug report.
