    Ugly fonts/visualization

Hello, I run KDE 3.5.8 on a fresh installation of Kubuntu 7.10 (I switched from Opensuse 10.3 last Sunday after an X-server severe crash).
As a consequence of something I did (but I don't know what, because I'm installing a lot of packages and doing many tests, being new in Kubuntu), now the visualization appear very ugly (see schermata1.png). I created a dummy user, and its visualization is ok (schermata2.png). In both screenshots I use monospace font with dimension 11. So I guess that I can fix the problem just editing some configuration file in my account. But which file??
    Thank you for your help.

It's been the first thing I tried, but it didn't work (yes, I restarted the X server).
I solved the problem by a brute-force approach (removing a lot of configuration files).
I suspect it was something in the .qt directory, but I'm not sure.
