KMenu issues

Ok well for some reason the KMenu does not show any changes I make to it. Such as I tried addind Kcontrol under system. I put in the correct command, put in an icon for it, name it etc...even assign a shortcut to it. I hit save and says it saved. Then I close menu edit and open KMenu and my changes are not there. However the shortcut key I assigned it works. So what is going on here?

EDIT: It seems I can remove objects, just cannot add them.

Have you tried logging out and back in again?

Not yet, but now I will. Strange though cause normally it adds it right away.
