    compiz settings

Where have these gone in Gutsy

Previous to the Gutsy upgrade, they were easy enough to find in the settings menu, but using that link now does nothing...

    Re: compiz settings

Compiz is not a "default" Gutsy package -- you'll have to open Adept and mark it for installation. Here are the packages you need to mark:

    compiz
    compiz-core
    compiz-fusion-plugins-main
    compiz-kde
    compiz-plugins
    compizconfig-settings-manager
    emerald

Then open a Konsole window, enter
    Code:
    compiz
and see if it is happy with your display driver. If it is, and it runs, just leave that console window open, shut down any other running apps, and do a shutdown/reboot of your system. When it comes back up, you'll have compiz running, and an empty open console window.

      Thanks,
I had compiz installed prior to the Gutsy upgrade, but wasn't aware that it wouldn't be installed by default during the upgrade as is the case with Ubuntu. It turns out that the Gutsy upgrade merely broke the compiz settings package as there is an updated version for gutsy available.
I simply removed compiz and all associated packages and reinstalled them...
