Since yesterday firefox often hangs while loading a webpage

Yesterday I noticed for the first time that firefox 2.0.0.6 often hangs while it's loading a webpage. It then hangs for about 30 seconds. Sometimes the rest of kubuntu seems to hang too in that period.

I never had this problem before... Anyone here experienced the same maybe?

I tried removing and reinstalling firefox, I tried disabling the firewall, I tried removing all extensions and I tried removing all plugins like java and flash stuff (kubuntu restricted extra's stuff) but nothing seems to work.

    It's a 64bit installation btw.

Firefox 2.0.0.7 has been out for a while... tried upgrading? It might fix it, whatever the problem is.

I think I've fixed it. First I tried installing Swiftweasel, but it had the same problem. Then I installed the macromedia flash plugin (trough adept), and left the kubuntu restricted extra's uninstalled. Now the problem seems to be solved. I think all pages that caused this problem had some flash stuff running somewhere which caused the problem.

      Thanks still for your reply!
