    Upgrade troubles with libcurl3-gnutls

When I preform an update, it always says that libcurl3-gnutls is upgradeable, but when I mark it as an upgrade, then it tries to remove 20 packages (OOo, libcurl4-gnutls, etc), and when I tell it to remove it, then it tries to remove 20 packages. I have left it alone for now. Any suggestions on what to do?

Same here - with (i.a.) Synaptic on the "kill list" >

What and see ... one fine day, all dependencies will be met and updating will be possible again ...

Do an 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade' *then* do the 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' from the command prompt.

That will get everything updated without removing synaptic or adept or anything. (But still read the prompts, before you answer Y/n, to make sure it's not trying to remove them.)

Same here despite apt-get dist-upgrade the problem persists, and adept gives a permanent reminder icon with these files and one cannot remove them or lose OOO etc.
Also the upgrade made me permanently offline with ADSL broadband in tribe 2.
It (ADSL) comes back after much fiddling, but on reboot it is offline again.
        Real alpha stuff I guess!

Just to rule out the obvious: it's supposed to be apt-get update first, then apt-get dist-upgrade

            Re: Upgrade troubles with libcurl3-gnutls

The dependency issues with libcurl3-gnutls seem to be fixed (it'll still want to remove libcurl4-gnutls, which I'm pretty sure is by design as libcurl4-gnutls is tagged as a transitional package), but otherwise the upgrade went without a hitch.

These dependency conflicts are quite common in the development stage of a release...best way to handle them is postpone the upgrade of conflicting packages until the conflicts are resolved, it usually won't take too long.

Latest apt-get update and apt-get dist upgrade fixed this today 14/7/07

              Of courserous ,
even forum posters know you do apt-get update first and after this the libcurl3-gnutils problem still persists.
              Oh well Alpha stuff!
