kubuntu desktop i386 Gutstsy tribe2 thunderbird link failure

Hi in Gutsy tribe 2 thunderbird refuses to load links anywhere and firefox 2.0.0.4 has no mail options to accept thunderbird-silly isn't it.
Is there some nerdy way to force thunderbird to open its links in firefox, other than stone age copy and paste links.
I have installed Seamonkey 1.2 to get around this, at least mail is integrated, but I would like to try firefox-thunderbird.

Otherwise gutsy is going fine, but one has to watch the Kubuntu installer, as it blanks quickly,(don't allow this!) and pushing the space bar then 8) makes it confused, with no progress bar indicator.

How about manually adding the appropriate protocol handlers, as described here and there ...?

After doing "sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser" and choosing Firefox thunderbird crashes everytime I want to open a mail.

Is there an issue with that script and gutsy? I has always worked for me in the past.

How do I reverse it?

I found out it was an add on issue. I uninstalled all addons (Lightning, contactsidebar, etc) and reinstalled them seperately. Now everything is hunky dory again.
