Hi all, I'm trying to get a fresh install of Kubuntu onto a wireless network. My card uses a Broadcom chip and with earlier Kubuntu versions I've used Ndiswrapper. With Gutsy it looks like you can use fwcutter. I've tried following the offline instructions here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi.../bcm43xx/Gutsy
I tried installing fwcutter via the .deb file and it gave an error as it depends on a newer version libc6. I got a copy of that, tried installing but that has dependencies and so on...
Is there an easy way of doing this or should I just bite the bullet and get all the updates with an ethernet cable plugged in? How come the restricted driver manager isn't installed by default? Is there a way to get it off the Kubuntu install cd?
Thanks.
