wireless network problem

I just installed Gutsy Gibbon and have no driver issues. However it does not see my wireless network. I rebooted my cable modem and my Linksys router to create a new mac address and still no luck. Has anyone had a similar problem or anyone can help. Thanks

I have also tried to connect to other wireless networks that are not encrypted.
