Internet Connection Sharing

Here's what I have been attempting:

Router<--wifi-->Kubuntu Laptop<--CrossoverCable-->MacMini

I have the internet working on the laptop. I attempted everything I saw in this forum thread

Using the Masquerading from the bottom of the page what settings do I need to use on the MacMini...DHCP?

I finally resolved this problem and have a shared connection. The only issue now is that when I restart my system I have to rerun the commands for the sharing to turn back on. Is there any reason this isn't happening already?

I just installed GuardDog and was wondering what protocols I need to allow in order for my internet sharing to work.
