    Help with Wireless Connection

    Hello Everyone,

This is my 2nd day on Linux. I am quite a noob.

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FS8900p with an Intel pro/wireless 2200bg network card. It seems like Kubuntu recognizes the card from what I can tell and has assigned it eth1. However it isn't searching for wireless networks. Also it say in KNetworkManager under Device : No active device.

Also, my administrator mode buttons aren't working anymore so I can't do much. I know my password is correct, but for some reason they outline in red, then go back to gray and all the buttons are grayed out. If anyone knows how to fix this, that would also be appreciated.

Thanks for helping a linux noob out.

Weird. I reinstalled Kubuntu and it picked it up right away. Not sure why it didn't last time.
