Where do I set the preferred network to KNetworkManager?
Out of a sudden it preferres to go with my neighbour's network in stead of my own - as I used to use always.

That sounds odd. Once you select the network you want to use (right-click on KNetworkManager and left-click on your network) and have entered the security key information (you network is secured, yes?), that is the network you should be using. As far as I know it should not 'decide on it's own' which network to connect to.
