Help newb (me) with wireless please

    Hi folks,
I'm a complete newcomer to linux. I've installed Kubuntu 7.10 using a downloaded dvd image and I can't figure out how to enable the wireless card in my laptop. Its an Acer aspire 3004 model and it has a Broadcom4318 card. I've been reading a few tutorials on what to do but I can't find the proverbial carrot to guide me. Anyway, in System settings/advanced/restricted drivers I've enabled the driver for the software modem but when i tick the box to enable the" firmware for the Broadcom 43xx chipset family" I get an error saying "The software source for the package bcm43XX-fwcutter is not enabled". What do I need to do to enable it?

The giudes I've been reading are:

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi.../bcm43xx/Gutsy
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...eisty_No-Fluff
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=197102

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Pete

Edit: I installed the bcm43xx-cutter file and the wl_apsta firmware and now the cards enabled.
Next question - how do I search for my wireless network?

    Thanks again

    Pete
