    knetworkmangerrc & no broadcast setup

On my wife's Dell 1420N with a Intel 3945 WLAN (802.11a/g) Mini Card. I have knetworkmanager working OK with wpa. It does everything it should do.

However, I would like to turn off the essid broadcast by the router, but when I do that knetworkmanager requires me to manually add the router name and wpa password settings each time we boot up and yes it accesses kwallet each time the connection is made, much like it did the first time it connected with broadcast turned on. If I switch the router back to broadcasting the essid all is fine again.

Is there a simple change I can make to knetworkmanagerrc that would still keep all the settings that currently work and still auto connect to a access point that is hidden? Note: it is the same router, the same wpa setup, the only difference is I would like to turn off essid broadcasting.

    thanks in advance

disabling the essid broadcast won't protect you any better.
it's actually pretty useless, security wise.
but a pain in the butt for all the rest.
so, my little piece of advice is: don't bother!
just use wpa2-psk and a good passphrase.
    it'll do.
    see here, for example.
