I am new to Kubuntu and not all that experienced with Linux, though I have played with a few different flavours and have to say that Kubuntu is the best I have encountered. Congratulations to everybody on an excellent job.
Now to my bitch: I downloaded the DVD version of 7.10 and loaded it onto a well tried and trusted hardware system. All was well, then I updated it as recommended and found that my ethernet card had been disabled. I searched around for clues and tried a few things I found on various forums but have had no success yet. I have tried the live disc, and also Knoppix and it works fine with them but when I boot the installed version the same problem occurs.
I have checked the forums and have not found a solution, though I have seen a number of similar problems. Some help would be appreciated please, and remember I am pretty green.
