Bandwidth?

What is acceptable bandwidth for a wireless usb adapter? I get various connections but currently, I got a connection with 24 Mb/s (shown in 'Connection Status' box) although I have had higher. When I use KNetwork Manager by placing the mouse cursor over my router's ESSID, I have 62MB/s displayed. I'm confused.

Anyway, could anyone explain or suggest what figures/speed I should hope to obtain?

I assume you're running 802.11g?

As a point of reference, I'm currently sitting at the other end of my house to where the router is, and iwconfig is showing 36Mb/s.

Also depends on what you're doing with the connection. If you're just browsing the internet, 24 is more than fine. If you're moving large amounts of data around the local network, you might want to move some hardware around to get a better signal.
