KNetworkManager: Connection was not made because of range? :S

    Hello,

I live in a two floors house and down stairs i got my wireless router working while upstairs i have the laptop trying to connect using Broadcom wireless device (Configured using fwcutter) and Kubuntu Gutsy.

Problem is that KNetwork Manager is seeing the wireless connection but it is not acquiring the IP address from the wireless DHCP i think. While when i take my laptop down stairs it connects normally.

The confusing thing is that the router is in the room right under my room in which i place my laptop in. But is not getting the IP address.

KNetwork Manager shows "57% IP Configuration Started..." then displays an error stating that it could not connect. As i mentioned before it connects down stairs normally.

Microsoft Windows XP can connect to the wireless device whereever you put the laptop upstairs and whereever you put the router downstairs but Kubuntu cannot do that? :S

Is there something wrong here or is windows XP using a signal amplifier?

    Please provide any help possible

    Best Regards,
    Rakan

    Try using KWiFiManger instead.
