    triple boot

i have xp and kubuntu fiesty fawn (with GRUB 1.5) already installed on my computer, in that order. Now I want to install a newer kubuntu and windows vista on the same harddisk.
What are the precautions that I need to take?

Should I install kubuntu or vista first?

I also found some tutorials on how to make selecting three OSes from the same bootloader menu possible. Is that necessary?
And also that partitions should be made using gParted instead of during the installation process. Please guide me on the exact sequence of steps that I need to take.
I don't have extra space to backup my c: drive where my windows xp is installed.

Vista *** The definitive dual-booting guide: Linux, Vista and XP step-by-step
    http://apcmag.com/dualboot

That's the most detailed guide you'll probably find. Read it carefully, more than once. It's all there. Just be sure you are comfortable with the techniques, because (1) you must be prepared should there be a problem booting into one of your OSs, and (2) you must be comfortable managing all the OSs in case there's an update, upgrade, version change, or you wish to change your OSs around and/or partitions and/or add a second disk etc. Definitely, Vista goes * first * -- no question about that.
