    Kubuntu will not start KDE

    All,

I have successfully installed Kubuntu (it gives an IO Slave error when I boot the DVD.

When I reboot to log in the screen never changes from black.

I know everything is working okay as I can boot into repair/safemode and type startx to bring up KDE.

Any ideas on how to diagnose why booting normally will not bring up a KDE desktop?

    Thanks,

    Tim

    Hi buddy.
Have checked de MD5 checksum from your iso?
Maybe some configuration file is corrupted.
the kubuntu version installed is a release or beta?
try using a release kubuntu CD or dvd.
Or try to copy the X config files from the live cd.
Or adding a startup script to be run at bootup http://ubuntu.wordpress.com/2005/09/...run-at-bootup/
    Good Look!
