Well I have finally made my dream come true. I have completely switched over to Kubuntu and completely got rid of the infection known as Windows. All I asked from Kubuntu is that it run Guild Wars smoothly and it has! I could not be happier!

As for your terminology, "... got rid of the infection known as Windows," the following author makes precise the possibility that Windows is in fact a trojan spyware and furthermore may implant phantom MBRs in your HDD's unused excess sectors (those that fall outside the last full cylinder):
