this is probably posted somewhere, but i can't find any that are updated. does anyone have a 'recomended' list of things to do after a fresh install of kubuntu 7.10? ie: adept sources, etc.

Christ on a bike - there are as many answers to that as grains of rice in your local Chinese. What is it you want to do?

        About KDE 4

KDE 4 is at the moment experimental (someone might call it beta). You could install it:

Yeah. Personally, don't intall it! KDE4 isn't ready for the 'non-experienced' Linux user. If however, you like not having things work, install KDE 4.0.

I myself, haven't, and won't, install KDE4. I'm waiting until it is at least as functional as KDE 3.5.8.

and i appreciate it all. i'm not an inexperienced user. i've been using ubuntu for the last year, and i started with KDE years before that. i recently switched back to KDE, and was just wanting to try KDE 4. which i am now doing (along side KDE 3.5.8) needless to say, yes, it does still need a lot of work. but, that's why i have both .. anyway, thank you to all who replied. all were helpful.

                  Re: after install...

Ok, so I DID install KDE 4.0 and now all I get is this "welcome to debian" screen to log into when I restarted. I login and the only thing available at ALL is the terminal. How do I uninstall 4.0 safely?? Help!
