    Re: Removing kubuntu

I've just checked the link i gave to bootdisk.com (haven't used it for a long time )and from there you can download assorted boot images, you can also get to here: How to obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks for the official XP 6 boot floppies.

    I hope it helps.

aged hippy is correct if you can't get the original WIN OS Install disk. I've been there before - long, long time ago . I've also was able to try this on a machine at work with the original install disk, that works as well, and actually better/faster.

I can't believe that it hasn't been suggested to this point, but why not go and get another hard drive and install it in your laptop after removing the windows one. That is a fairly cheap way of doing it since you have misplaced the restore cd.

If you can find a W2000 or XP boot disk (or CD) - boot into "dos" (It's not, but command line) - type fdisk mbr

It should restore the original type windows mbr, that will find the XP - if it's not gone, that is.

Of course - you can take a diskette to any W2000 or XP PC and make a rescue diskette. It should do the same.
