I'm hoping it's just some misconfiguration on my part, but Gutsy seems slower than Feisty. I do have it installed on my home PC where it seems fine and I don't get the slow downs, but it's a beefy box. Dual CPU, 4GB Ram.
My problem seems to be with the install on my laptop.
I used to run firefox, kaffeine, and openoffice without a problem. Now it seems whenever I do something, it takes a second to think about it.
When I look at top, strigidaemon, seems to always be at the top 10 processes.
And before someone asks:
This is a Toshiba Satellite A20-S259 P4 2.6 with 1GB of memory, 1GB of Swap as well.
Any ideas on how to streamline the system a bit? I am considering dropping KDE and going to Xubuntu for the laptop.
