I have just ordered a new HD for my Laptop as I am running out of space on my current HD, but before I rebuild the machine I wanted to check peoples thoughts on what I should do as far as rebuilding Kubuntu on the machine, as I have had nothing but issues with a clean install of Kubuntu Gutsy, the main issues I have are detailed below
1. Volume control doesn't work (goes between 0% and 3% and no higher)
2. Adept, and various other apps keep crashing (much worse than Windows)
3. Amarok refuses to work until I re-install then stops working after a few uses
4. Booting is very slow, it stops with loads of errors on my USB hub and waits several minutes before continuing.
None of these issues existed for me with Feisty so I am considering when I rebuild to install Feisty again, as I currently don't feel that Gutsy is stable enough to use.
Has anyone else had these issues and if they have how did they resolve them.
Update: forgot to mention if I boot the Live CD with my External Windscreen Monitor attached Gutsy tries to output at a resolution beyond the Monitors range while it works fine on Fiesty
Thanks,
