    Problem after uninstalling ubuntu-desktop

    I upgraded to Kubuntu 7.10 and after that the system worked fine. I decided to uninstall Gnome.

    The first installation I made was Ubuntu 6.10 but I like more KDE so I installed kubuntu-desktop. Since then I have upgraded to Kubuntu 7.04 and now to 7.10. As I don't use Gnome decided to uninstall it.

    $ sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop

    The output of the command reported some packages were no longer needed so I removed then.

    There was no problem until I restarted. Now I have display problems with fonts, Combo Box, scroll bars.

    I would like to fix the system without having to reinstall it.

    Thank you.

    you could try reinstalling gnome, maybe that will get your system the way you had it before

    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

        Gosh, this won't be very helpful: When I did exactly what you did, I ended up re-installing Kubuntu, it was so messed up. But maybe these guys can help you identify the surgical technique you need to fix this.
