I've installed several versions of Kubuntu without problems, using clean installs and either the Desktop or Alternate Installs. I don't know why, but the Alternate Install Cd for Kubuntu definitely didn't work this time. Gave some error about the hard drive not being correct/unable to complete format/partitioning. Attempted to reinstall twice, no go.
